Our lady of charity, also known as Caridad del Cobre first appeared in 1608 before two native Indians and a slave in the middle of the ocean. She is the symbol of femininity, fresh water, happiness and abundance. She is the patron saint of money, and bondage. Our lady of charity is a popular saint in the Cuban culture and her feast day is celebrated on September 8.
Usualmente también llamada Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre y Virgen Negra, es una aparición de la Virgen María. Es la Virgen patrona de Cuba, Azanos, Tenerife, Mura, Provincia de Lugo y Galicia, y fue nombrada asi por el papa Benedicto XV. Su día es el 8 de septiembre. Es muy conocida por sus seguidores también como cachita.
